André Rieu coming to a cinema near you

André Rieu is coming to cinemas across Europe for a live concert on 20 July.

The latest concert in André Rieu’s renowned Live in Maastricht series will be captured live in his home town and transmitted via satellite to cinemas in 27 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic and Hungary.

International superstar Rieu and his famous Johann Strauss Orchestra have topped the Official Classic FM Chart since the beginning of the year. The crowd-pleasing music, elaborate sets and Rieu’s charisma onstage have raised audiences of thousands to their feet to dance in the aisles.

Rieu comments on the Live in Maastricht series: “These are not just any concerts... this really means a lot for me emotionally... Maastricht is where I live: this is my city. And when you find yourself playing to your own public, well, it really has an effect."

Arts Alliance Media, which is broadcasting the concert live on 20 July, will also record it in broadcast quality, for screening at cinemas in other countries at a later date.
