Trumpeter Alison Balsom has been confirmed as a special guest performer on the Sunday afternoon of this year's Latitude Festival.
Balsom will play with the English Concert, performing the music of Purcell and Handel on a day off from their run of a show at Shakespeare's Globe theatre in London.
The trumpeter will appear on the festival's spectacular Waterfront Stage, which is suspended above a lake in the middle of Henham Park, Southwold. Last year's festival saw Chinese pianist Lang Lang perform in the same slot, drawing a crowd of thousands of festival-goers.
The programme of music for the show will be taken straight from the Globe production of Gabriel, which was originally commissioned by artistic director Dominic Dromgoole and written by Samuel Adamson.
You can find out more about the show and Alison's involvement with the Globe theatre by watching our exclusive video below. Tickets for the festival, which takes place from the 18th-21st July this year, can be bought here.
