Andy Murray's classical paws for thought

Andy Murray and his family are enjoying a relaxing week off, accompanied by the soothing strains of Classic FM.
Andy Murray and girlfriend Kim Sears are enjoying a well-earned week of relaxation after Sunday’s Wimbledon final, spending time at home with their two dogs, Maggie May and Rusty. And the soundtrack to their week off? Classic FM, of course.
After an emotional speech following his defeat by world No. 1, Roger Federer, John Suchet decided to cheer up the Murray family by dedicating a track to the tennis star – Braveheart, by James Horner, performed by Julian Lloyd Webber and Catrin Finch. But it was border terrier Maggie May who got in touch to let us know she was listening with her owners.
Not content with merely being owned by the fourth best tennis player in the world, Maggie May took to Twitter a few months ago to take her rightful place in the limelight. It seems the techno-savvy terrier is not only a keen web user, but she and her owners also have fantastic taste in music.
“AAAHHH! Mum and Dad just got a shout out on @classicfm after some Braveheart. Thank you John, #lifeiscomplete,” she tweeted. By some coincidence, a love of classical music runs in the family – 24-year-old dog-lover Kim has an A level in music and regularly tunes in to Classic FM. We’re sure her favourites include operas by Pooch-ini, and Vaughan Williams’ The Bark Ascending.
