The Chamber Choir is one of the figure head ensembles in a thriving music department.
It is the only auditioned ensemble in the school and has performed in world famous venues such as The Sage, Gateshead and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Made up of pupils from Year 10 to Year 13 it performs a huge range of choral repertoire from motets by Victoria to modern pieces by composers such as Lauridsen and Whitacre. The music department is running an innovative project where all pupils in Key Stage 3 learn a musical instrument and their music lessons take the form of a rehearsal, an initiative that other schools are now adopting. Currently there are over 500 instrumentalists within the school.
