Watch: Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' meets Liszt
Watch our incredible performance video of AyseDeniz Gokcin performing Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Another Brick In The Wall' in the style of Liszt at Steinway Hall, and a fascinating interview with Classic FM's John Brunning.
It's safe to say that Turkish pianist AyseDeniz Gokcin is currently enjoying a peculiar kind of success. Last September, she released an EP of Pink Floyd songs arranged for the piano or, more accurately, 'Lisztified' for the piano - but that was just the beginning.
Fast-forward to January this year and Pink Floyd themselves picked up on it, sharing it on their Facebook page (with over 20 million fans worldwide) and bringing a whole new audience to Gokcin's intricate and innovative arrangements.
As she explains to Classic FM's John Brunning, the pieces are just as influenced by Liszt as they are by the legendary prog rock group: "I found a lot of things similar between these two, and decided to put them on one platform… it's a huge risk!"
Watch John Brunning's interview with AyseDeniz Gokcin below, and see her demonstrate how she married Pink Floyd with Liszt at the piano.
